This was actually a surprised VoxBox to get for review only because I’ve never had a product review specifically aimed at women of color.
COVERGIRL Queen Collection False Lash Drama Mascara
While this is not my favorite mascara on the market, it’s still a pretty good product. The wand is a decent length, with the plastic bristles following the natural eyelash length. I think the claim of “400% bigger, corner-to-corner” is an exaggerated claim. Yes, you can definitely tell you’ve applied mascara. No, it’s not that dramatic.
COVERGIRL Queen Collection Stay Luscious Lipstick
I received shade #Q710 (Passion). It’s a nice contrast against my skin tone and it takes very little product to get nice coverage. Again, this was another product where it didn’t seem to live up to the claim (i.e. “longwear lipstick”). Would I buy it again? Yes, for the color selection. However, I’d keep it close by for multiple applications throughout the day.
COVERGIRL Queen Collection Natural Hue Liquid Makeup
I already knew that the color I chose would most-likely not be the right shade. However, that was no surprise as trying to pick between three shades on the computer screen isn’t a great selection process. No knock to Influenster on this one, it’s just how technology works. As you can see in the image, I received #Q740 (Sheer Espresso). It was just a few shades darker than I needed, so I grabbed a few other COVERGIRL foundations I own to balance it out.
Here’s a quick glance at just a single layer of product. Nice coverage knowing the acne scars that are still fading underneath.
I decided to do a quick makeup look to see how everything looked together.
